The Media Décor Firebox is an industry first. It is designed for any
recess mounted Flatscreen installation. The Structural Firebox not only
supports the TV, it also includes built in passive honeycomb vents. It
is a fire retardant & fire resistant enclosure that isolates the TV and
the venting system. It prevents flame spread, flashover, and resists
fire penetration. Meets ASTM-E-119 testing
international standards.
The Moving Art or Mirror unit slides into this assembly and is
fastened with four supplied machine screws into four pre threaded holes
in the aluminum angle at the front of the unit. This is a custom built
unit.

IMPORTANT:
because of the thickness of the firebox, a 6" picture frame is required.
This will add to the cost of the picture frame, depending on which one
is selected. |
This unmatched level of performance as a fire retardant (prevents flame
spread/flashover) and as a fire resistant (resists fire penetration)
limits flame spread and fire penetration, It has the ability to help in
containing a fire by preventing both (i) the occurrence of flashovers
and (ii) the fire from penetrating walls and ceilings, thus resulting in
saving lives and preserving the structural integrity of the property.
The fire-resistant coating used in this product is fully tested and proven. It passes the fire industry’s
most stringent tests for either fire retardancy and/or fire resistance.
As a fire retardant, it passes the industry’s most severe tests (UBC
26-3 /UBC 8-2 room corner tests), showing the ability to resist
vertical flame spread/flashover. For fire resistance, it has also passed
the industry’s most stringent test (ASTM E-119-08A) showing the ability to
prevent fire penetration. It has been tested at
accredited third party IAS fire testing laboratory, classified with
Underwriters Laboratories (U/L), Class A, and approved by Factory Mutual (FM
Global). |
